WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AMOUNT TO START A NEW FUND?
First, no donation is too small since there are many ways to benefit the people and projects of the Fort Recovery area of Mercer County. For a named fund that will “spend down” within five years, the Foundation suggests the donation be at least $5,000. To permanently endow a fund where only future earnings are distributed, a minimum of $10,000 is needed.
Regardless of the amount given and the duration of the bequest, the Foundation will diligently search for recipients that meet the donor’s stated intentions. Fulfilling your intentions is the goal of the Foundation. If you don’t have a specific purpose, the Foundation will select recipients that benefit local people and projects.

IS YOUR ORGANIZATION TRANSPARENT?
Financials for the Fort Recovery Community Foundation can be requested from the President of the Foundation in writing. We do post periodic updates on our Facebook page, but out of respect for private donors, we do not post all activities.

HOW MUCH OF MY DONATION DIRECTLY SUPPORTS THE CAUSE?
The Fort Recovery Community Foundation is run by non-compensated board members and trustees. Therefore, the only expenses that the Foundation incurs are for the cost of mailings, distribution checks, postage and accounting services.
HOW DO I SET UP A NEW FUND?
Setting up a new fund is easy! Contact any Trustee or Board Member to get started or email us at frcommunityfoundation@gmail.com! We will work with you to define the purpose of your fund and ensure that we have your wishes documented for the future. A fund agreement will then be generated and signed by both parties.
HOW DO I DONATE TO AN EXISTING FUND?
Donations to an existing fund can be done through a multitude of payment methods:
1. Checks can be mailed to the Foundation at PO Box 52, Fort Recovery, OH 45846
2. Donations can be made through our website by clicking on the "DONATE" tab at the top menu.
3. Donations can be physically dropped off at Muhlenkamp & Associates Fort Recovery Office (807 Blue Jacket Drive)
4. Venmo donations can be made to @FR-Foundation
Please be sure to indicate the fund name either in the memo section of your check, on a cover letter or by sending us an email to frcommunityfoundation@gmail.com.
